Education Central Minnesota Services is offering three different training opportunities for local presidents, treasurers, negotiators and newer teachers on Wednesday, October 23rd, at K-Bob’s Café, 109 Rum River Dr, in Princeton. We will start with a delicious meal paid for by ECMS at 5:00 p.m. There will be door prizes and we will be done by 7:30 p.m.
- Presidents and Treasurers Training will consist of making sure your local is complying with local, state and federal laws, rules and policies set forth in governance documents and by our national affiliates. Rose Tuiyott-Lewis from Education Minnesota’s Internal Auditor Compliance Coordinator and Mike Roehl, Education Minnesota’s Chief Financial officer will be presenting this training.
- Negotiators Training – this training will consist of ECMS area and statewide updates on bargaining and settlements; bargaining options in PELRA - such as how mediation can help your local settle and is it ever advisable to go to arbitration. Darrell Baty, Education Minnesota Staff will present this training.
- Newer Teachers – this training will be about what’s in your local contract that you should be aware of and how to avoid problems in technology. Bring a copy of your local contract. Michelle Goos, Education Minnesota Staff will present this training.
Presidents please share the above information with your local Treasurers, Negotiators and Newer Teachers (3 years or less).
Continuing education credit will be available.
